Verse 1

Sukhkarta Dukhharta Varta Vighnachi || Nurvi Purvi Premkrupa Jayachi ||
Sarvangi Sundar Uti Shendurachi || Kanthi Jhalke Mal Muktaphalanchi || 1 ||
Jaydev Jaydev Jay Mangalmurti || Darshanmatre Manahkamana Purti || Dhru ||

The aarti opens by praising Ganesha as the giver of joy and the remover of sorrow, who takes away even the talk of obstacles. The compressed second half says his loving grace leaves nothing of them remaining (नुरवी) and fills the devotee's need (पुरवी); readers take these two verbs in slightly different ways, so the meaning is kept close to the words. His whole body is beautiful with a coating of vermilion, and a string of pearls gleams at his throat. The refrain, written in full only here and marked ध्रु०, hails him as the auspicious form at whose mere sight the mind's wishes are fulfilled; that is the aarti's devotional statement, not a promised result.

Verse 2

Ratnakhachit Phara Tuj Gaurikumara || Chandanachi Uti Kunkum Keshara
Hirejadit Mugut Shobhto Bara || Runjhunti Nupure Charni Ghagariya || Jaydev || 2 ||

This stanza describes Ganesha's adornment. For him, the son of Gauri, there is a jewel-set फरा (an ornament or covering; the exact object the word names is not certain), a paste of sandalwood with kumkum and saffron, and a diamond-studded crown that looks fine on him; anklets with little bells jingle on his feet. जयदेव० cues the refrain. This middle stanza is printed in the 1878 controlling witness and the later Navanit reprints but is absent from the 1891 edition of Samarth Ramdas's collected works, so its link to Ramdas rests on the sung tradition rather than on that edition. The final syllable of मुगुट is damaged in the 1878 print and is read as in the 1910 reprint; the print's नूपूरें is kept where the reprint has नूपुरें.

Verse 3

Lambodar Pitambar Phanivarbandhana || Saral Sond Vakratund Trinayana ||
Das Ramacha Vat Pahe Sadana || Sankashti Pavave Nirvani Rakshave Survar-Vandana || 3 || Jaydev ||

Ganesha is addressed as the big-bellied one, clad in yellow silk, with the great hooded serpent bound about him, with a straight trunk, as Vakratunda (a traditional name usually explained as 'of the curved trunk'), and three-eyed. 'Rama's servant waits for you at his dwelling' is the signature line; दास रामाचा is read as the name of Samarth Ramdas, to whom the 1891 collected-works edition attributes the aarti. The devotee asks Ganesha, honoured by the foremost gods, to come in times of trouble and to protect at the final hour; this is a prayer within the tradition, not an assurance about health, danger or death. The 1891 edition reads सरळशुंड and closes संकटीं पावावें सुरववंदना without निर्वाणीं रक्षावें; those readings are disclosed, not blended.
