Source: Internet Archive — Ganga Lahari, Bharat Prakashan Mandir, Mathura (undated), printed page 22 (controlling witness). Also compared: Internet Archive — Arti Sangraha, Anand Prakashan (undated), printed page 4 (visual comparison).

Verse 1

Jai Jai Tulsi Mata |
Sab Jag Ki Sukhdata, Vardata || Jai Jai Tulsi Mata ||

Glory, glory to Mother Tulsi. The aarti praises her as the one who gives happiness to the whole world and grants blessings.

Verse 2

Sab Yogon Ke Upar, Sab Rogon Ke Upar |
Ruj Se Raksha Karke, Bhav Trata || Jai Jai Tulsi Mata ||

The hymn places her above all yogas and above all illnesses, and praises her as the one who guards against disease (ruj) and carries beings across worldly existence (bhav).

Verse 3

Bahupatni! He Shyama! Surballi! He Gramyo!
Vishnupriye! Jo Tumko, Seve So Tar Jata || Jai Jai Tulsi Mata ||

The first line is a string of names. This print reads Bahupatni; other prints read Bahu Patri, "the many-leaved", or Batu Putri, and its exact sense is not settled. She is also called Shyama, "the dark one"; Surballi, "the divine creeper"; and Gramyo, "the one of the village", the plant kept in homes. Beloved of Vishnu, whoever serves her is said in the hymn to cross over the ocean of worldly life.

Verse 4

Hari Ke Sheesh Virajit, Tribhuvan Se Ho Vandit |
Patit Janon Ki Tarini, Tum Hau Vikhyata || Jai Jai Tulsi Mata ||

She rests on the head of Hari, as Tulsi leaves are placed on Vishnu in worship, and is honoured throughout the three worlds. She is renowned as the one who uplifts the fallen.

Verse 5

Lekar Janm Vipin Mein, Aai Divya Bhavan Mein |
Manav Lok Tumhin Se Sukh Sampati Pata || Jai Jai Tulsi Mata ||

Born in the forest, she came into a divine home. The hymn says that the human world receives happiness and prosperity through her.

Verse 6

Hariko Tum Ati Pyari, Shyamvaran Sukumari |
Prem Ajab Hai Unka, Tumse Kaisa Nata || Jai Jai Tulsi Mata ||

She is very dear to Hari, the tender one of dark complexion. The hymn marvels at their love: what a wonderful bond he shares with her.
