Send a correction
Email [email protected] with the page URL, the exact line or claim, the proposed correction, and a source if available. Reports about Devanagari text, transliteration, translation, authorship, dates, ritual claims, accessibility, or broken citations are all welcome. You can also use the contact form.
Review process
- Confirm the report against the displayed page and cited source.
- Compare disputed text with an additional reliable reference where possible.
- Correct clear transcription, link, and formatting errors promptly.
- Mark unresolved interpretive or tradition-specific questions instead of selecting a preferred answer without evidence.
- Update the page’s “Last verified” field and public manifest when a substantive change is published.
When your version differs from ours
Many reports are not errors but a different version: the wording your family, temple or favourite recording uses. If a cited edition supports your reading, we record it on the page as a variant reading with its source, rather than replacing the printed text. If no edition we can cite carries it, we keep the page as it is and may note that other versions circulate. We will not change a text to match a recording or website that has no identifiable edition behind it.
How changes are disclosed
Minor typographic fixes may be made without a public note. Changes to source wording, translation, authorship, historical claims, dates, or safety guidance are treated as substantive: the page’s “Last verified” date changes, the change is kept in the project’s change record, and a superseded reading that turns out to be a genuine edition variant stays visible as a variant rather than disappearing.
Festival dates
Festival dates are checked against two publishers for a stated location. If you find a date that differs, tell us your city and the Panchang you follow. Regional calendars can legitimately differ, so a different local date may be added as a regional note rather than replacing the stated one.
Urgent issues
Use “Urgent correction” in the email subject for content that could cause harm, misstates medical guidance, falsely identifies a person, or materially changes the meaning of a sacred text. This channel is for published-content corrections, not emergency support.
