Terms of Service

Last Updated: October 18, 2026

1. Using Valkala

By using valkala.com, you agree to these terms. Valkala is a free reading and practice aid for personal devotional, educational, and informational use. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

2. Text Scope and Availability

Named devotional readers contain complete checked reading editions. Explicitly curated collections, such as selected Bhagavad Gita shlokas or a defined multi-prayer collection, identify their selection. Source cards document editions and meaningful living variants. Features, selections, and availability may change as material is corrected or improved.

3. Intellectual Property and Sources

Underlying ancient works may be free of modern copyright restrictions, but particular editions, translations, recordings, illustrations, and arrangements can carry separate rights. Valkala does not claim ownership of underlying scripture or traditional prayer text. Valkala’s original interface, branding, software, and original editorial copy remain subject to applicable rights. Source links are provided where available and do not transfer third-party rights.

4. Acceptable Use

Do not disrupt the service, bypass security controls, submit malicious or unlawful material, impersonate another person, scrape in a manner that impairs availability, or falsely present Valkala’s editorial work as externally or expertly endorsed.

5. Advertising and Third-Party Services

Valkala is free to read and is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Valkala does not use affiliate or retailer links and does not sell products. Ads are shown by Google under its own policies; Valkala does not endorse advertised products or services, and advertising does not influence editorial decisions. Valkala also links to external sources and uses third-party services for form delivery and, when configured, analytics; their terms and privacy practices apply to their services, and the Privacy Policy explains the cookies they use.

5a. Accounts and the Ad-free Option

Signing in with Google is optional. Every text, meaning, japa and puja feature stays free without an account. Signed-in readers may buy the optional ad-free option: Yearly (₹499 for purchases made by 31 December 2026, then ₹999; one payment for 12 months, not renewed automatically) or Lifetime (₹2,499 for purchases made by 31 December 2026, then ₹4,999; for as long as Valkala operates the website and app). It is tied to the reader’s Valkala account: signed in with the same Google account, a purchase on valkala.com also removes ads in the Valkala app (version 1.1 and later), and a purchase in the app, once Google confirms it, also removes ads on valkala.com. In the app, without signing in, a purchase covers that Google Play account only. It changes nothing else: the same texts are available to everyone.

Website payments are processed by Razorpay; payments inside the Android app are processed by Google Play under Google Play’s terms. Prices include GST. Refunds follow the Refund and Cancellation Policy; delivery is described in the Delivery Policy and prices on the Pricing page. The ad-free option is personal to the account that bought it and may not be resold or shared. If Valkala ever stops showing ads to everyone, or closes, no further payment is due and Yearly holders whose pass has more than 30 days left may ask for a pro-rata refund.

6. Disclaimer
