Monday worship during Shravan

Sawan is the common North Indian name for Shravan. Its Mondays are associated with Shiva worship and, in many households, a vrat. The outline here is an optional household aid, not a universal ritual prescription. It does not promise marriage, children or any other outcome.

Why the regional calendar matters

Purnimanta and amanta calendars use different lunar-month boundaries. The five dates on this page belong only to the North Indian purnimanta sequence referenced to New Delhi. Sawan Somvar, Solah Somvar and Pradosh

Sawan Somvar refers to Mondays within Shravan. Solah Somvar is a vow of sixteen consecutive Mondays and is not the five-date sequence here. Pradosh Vrat follows Trayodashi and the evening observance rule; a Monday Pradosh is called Soma Pradosh, but it is not automatically every Sawan Monday.
