Verse
आरति ज्ञानराजा । महा कैवल्यतेजा ।
सेविती साधुसंत । मनु वेधला माझा ॥ धृ० ॥
लोपलें ज्ञान जगीं । हित नेणती कोणी ।
अवतार पांडुरंग । नाम ठेविलें ज्ञानी ॥ १ ॥
Aarti Dnyanraja | Maha Kaivalyateja |
Seviti Sadhusant | Manu Vedhla Majha || Dhru ||
Lopale Dnyan Jagi | Hit Nenti Koni |
Avatar Pandurang | Nam Thevile Dnyani || 1 ||
English meaning: The refrain, printed once and marked धृ०, offers the aarti to Dnyanraja, the king of knowledge, a name for Sant Dnyaneshwar, and calls him the great radiance of kaivalya, final liberation. Saints and holy people serve him, and the singer says, 'my mind is captivated'. The first stanza says that knowledge had become hidden in the world and no one knew what was truly for their good. Pandurang, the Lord of Pandharpur, took avatar and was given the name 'Dnyani', the knower. That is the aarti's devotional way of honouring Dnyaneshwar, not a historical claim made by Valkala.
Roman Hindi meaning: Dhruvpad (dhru), jo print mein ek baar likha hai, Dnyanraj yaani Sant Dnyaneshwar ki aarti karta hai aur unhe kaivalya, yaani param mukti, ka mahan tej kehta hai. Sadhu-sant unki seva karte hain aur gaane wala kehta hai, 'mera man unmein bindh gaya hai'. Pehla pad kehta hai ki sansar mein gyan lupt ho gaya tha aur koi apna sachcha hit nahin jaanta tha. Tab Pandharpur ke Pandurang ne avatar liya aur unka naam 'Dnyani' rakha gaya. Yeh Dnyaneshwar ke prati aarti ka bhakti-bhara kathan hai, koi aitihasik daava nahin.

Kanakache Tat Kari | Ubhya Gopika Nari |
Narad Tumbaru Ho | Sam Gayan Kari || 2 ||
English meaning: The second stanza pictures the aarti itself as a heavenly scene: gopika women stand holding plates of gold, and the divine singers Narada and Tumburu sing in the style of the Sama Veda. 'Ho' is a calling particle with no separate meaning. This stanza is absent from the 1955 Sakal Sant Gatha and from the posthumous edition of Bhaktimarga Pradip, which print only the first and last stanzas, so it is not sung in every tradition; the 1910 print and the Dnyandev Gatha edition include it.
Roman Hindi meaning: Doosra pad aarti ko ek divya drishya ki tarah dikhata hai: gopikayen haathon mein sone ki thaliyan liye khadi hain, aur dev-gayak Narad aur Tumburu Samaveda ki reeti se gaate hain. 'Ho' sirf sambodhan ka shabd hai. Yeh pad 1955 ki 'Sakal Sant Gatha' aur 'Bhaktimarga Pradip' ke baad wale sanskaran mein nahin hai, jo sirf pehla aur aakhri pad chhaapte hain; 1910 ka print aur Dnyandev Gatha ka sanskaran ise dete hain.

Omission
Published: As printed on this page (Pangarkar Bhaktimarga Pradip, 4th ed. 1910)
Other reading: Not present (Rahirkar Sakal Sant Gatha, Poona 1955; Pangarkar Bhaktimarga Pradip (posthumous edition)) Both print only the refrain, the first stanza and the last stanza.
Other reading: कनकाचें ताट करीं । उभ्या गोपिका नारी ॥ नारद तुंबरु हो । साम गायन करी ॥ २ ॥ आरती ॥ (Dnyandev Gatha (Telang, Pandharpur))
The 1910 controlling print and the Dnyandev Gatha edition carry this stanza, so the complete three-stanza form is published. Its absence from the 1955 Sakal Sant Gatha and the posthumous Bhaktimarga Pradip is disclosed in the stanza's meaning and the overview.
प्रगट गुह्य बोले । विश्व ब्रह्मचि केलें ।
रामाजनार्दनीं । पायिं टकची ठेलें ॥ ३ ॥
Pragat Guhya Bole | Vishva Brahmachi Kele |
Ramajanardani | Payi Takchi Thele || 3 ||
English meaning: The last stanza says that he spoke openly what had been secret and made the whole universe [known as] Brahman. Readers commonly take the first phrase to refer to Dnyaneshwar's Marathi commentary on the Gita, which put hidden teaching into the people's language; the aarti itself does not name the work. The signature follows: 'Ramajanardani', the poet, stands at his feet with an unblinking, fixed gaze (टकची ठेलें). The aarti's statements about Dnyaneshwar are devotional praise, not a promise of any result for the singer.
Roman Hindi meaning: Aakhri pad kehta hai ki unhone gupt baat ko prakat roop mein kaha aur poore vishva ko Brahman [roop mein dikhaya]. Padhne wale aksar pehle hisse ko Gita par Dnyaneshwar ki Marathi teeka se jodte hain, jisne chhupe updesh ko lok-bhasha mein rakha; aarti khud us granth ka naam nahin leti. Phir naammudra aati hai: 'Ramajanardani', yaani kavi, unke charanon mein ektak drishti lagaye khada reh gaya. Dnyaneshwar ke baare mein aarti ke kathan bhakti-bhari stuti hain, gaane wale ke liye kisi phal ka vachan nahin.
