Teen lokon ke srashta Purushottam Vishnu ko pranam ke baad Yudhishthir lokhit ke liye apna sanshay rakhte hain: Margashirsha Shukla Ekadashi ka naam, devata aur vidhi kya hai? Krishna prashn ki prashansa karte aur usse yash milne ka mahatmya kehte hain. Ve pichhli katha mein Krishna Dwadashi par Vishnu ke sharir se utpann Ekadashi ka smaran karte hain. Dev-asur-vadh ke liye kehne vala pad bhi chune paath mein hai; use badalkar nayi utpatti-katha nahin banayi gayi.

Agla pad utpatti ko Shukla paksha se jodta hai, jabki Angrezi tulna Krishna paksha kehti hai. Yeh aantarik paksha-virodh bataya gaya hai; isse utsav ki nayi tithi nahin nikali gayi. Phir Krishna Margashirsha Shukla Ekadashi ko Moksha batate hain, jise alag samapan Mokshada kehta hai. Sunne ka phal Vajapeya yagya ke saman kaha jata hai.

Iska naya Dashami-viddha panchang nirdesh nahin banaya gaya. Nritya, geet aur stuti sahit jagran aur adhogati mein gaye pitaron ki mukti ka dharmik mahatmya hai. Deep vaikalpik hai; jalayein to nigrani rakhein aur sone se pehle bujhayein.

English meaning: After saluting Purushottama Vishnu as creator of the three worlds, Yudhishthira asks for public benefit: what are Margashirsha's bright Ekadashi's name, deity and method? Krishna praises the question and the fame it brings. He recalls Ekadashi arising from Vishnu's body on dark Dwadashi in the preceding account. The selected text also has a phrase about killing gods and asuras; it is not rewritten into a new origin narrative. The next position places the origin in the bright fortnight, whereas the English comparison says dark. This internal fortnight contradiction is disclosed, not used to derive a new festival date. Krishna then names Margashirsha's bright Ekadashi Moksha, called Mokshada in the separate colophon. Hearing is assigned merit comparable with a Vajapeya sacrifice. Worship of Damodara with flowering tulsi tips, incense and lamps refers back to earlier Dashami and Ekadashi observances. No new Dashami-joined calendar instruction is derived. A vigil with dance, song and praise and release of ancestors in lower states are religiously praised. Lamps are optional; attend them and extinguish before sleep. Do not withhold food, water or sleep. Ancestors' condition or release is not a verified outcome, nor a basis for frightening or burdening families with guilt.

Champak nagar ke Vaikhanas raja apni praja ko putron ki tarah palate hain. Samriddh nagar mein Ved aur Vedang janne vale vidvan hain; Angrezi tulna ka Upanishad pad chupchap mool ke sthan par nahin rakha gaya. Svapn mein raja apne anek pitaron ko narak mein peedit dekhte hain. Ve rokar sahayata mangte hain. Katha aage pita par kendrit hoti hai, lekin aarambh ka bahuvachan nahin hataya gaya.

Raja unki kripa se kushal aur Vishnu tatha Brahmanon ke prati bhakti kehte hain, phir apni peeda batate hain: svapn mein pita ko kasht dekha, uska karan aur mukti ka upay chahte hain.

English meaning: King Vaikhanasa of Champaka cares for his subjects as sons. The prosperous city has scholars versed in Veda and Vedanga; the English comparison's Upanishads wording is not silently substituted. In a dream the king sees multiple ancestors suffering in hell. They weep and ask for help. The account subsequently focuses on his father, but its opening plural is retained. He tells the scholars that wealth, horses, elephants, wife and son no longer bring joy. His heart is distressed; what place, vow, austerity or yoga could help his father? His question contrasts a prosperous living son with a father in hell; it is not an accusation directed at families. A dream about a deceased relative does not prove an actual afterlife condition. The scholars name nearby sage Parvata, who knows past and future. The king goes to the hermitage with Brahmins and other kings. Among sages knowing Rig, Yajus and Sama, Parvata appears like Brahma. The king bows at his feet. The sage asks about the kingdom's seven constituents and the king's contentment. The king reports well-being through his grace and devotion to Vishnu and Brahmins, then shares his distress: he saw his father suffering in a dream and seeks its cause and a way of release.

Parvat thodi der dhyan karke poorvaj ke purane karm ka vrittant kehte hain. Pichhle janm mein pita Kshatriya raja the. Yahan mool ka ritudan aur prachin vaivahik kartavya ka sandarbh rakha gaya hai; aspasht sapatni shabd se naya vivah-vivaran nahin banaya gaya. Yeh katha ki karan-vyakhya hai, mrit vyakti ke vastavik karm ya narak ka praman nahin.

Kisi vivah mein yaun adhikar, dabav, zabardasti, garbhadharan ki badhyata ya chikitsakiya nirnay ka samarthan nahin hota. Raja upay poochhte hain. Muni Margashirsha Shukla Moksha ka vrat parivar ya sathiyon sahit karke uska punya pita ko arpit karne ko kehte hain aur vachan ki satyata Brahma-saman batate hain.

Raja lautkar mahine ki pratiksha karte hain. Samay aane par samooh sahit vrat karke punya pita ko dete hain. Katha mein aakash se phool baraste hain; pita anya pitaron sahit mukt hote hain. Aakash se ve do baar svasti kehkar putra ko aasheesh dete aur svarg jate hain. Iske baad vrat se paap mitne, mrityu ke baad mukti, aganniy phal, Bhagavan ko priya hone aur Chintamani-saman hone ki prashansa hai. Padhne ya sunne ka phal Vajapeya yagya ke saman kaha jata hai.

Alag samapan Uttarkhand ke Umapati-Narad samvad mein adhyay 39 ko Margashirsha Shukla Mokshada kehta hai; tatkal samvad Krishna-Yudhishthir ka hai. Sabhi 47 kramankit sthan aur samapan is maulik sankshipt gadya mein poore hain. Adhyay Gita ki utpatti-katha nahin kehta; jude Gita paath chayanit shlok hain, poore adhyay nahin. Punya aur parlok dharmik katha hain, guarantee nahin. Poorvaj-smaran vaikalpik hai; upavas, jagran, daan ya khareed avashyak nahin. Bhojan, pani, vishram aur dekhbhal jari rakhein.

English meaning: Parvata briefly meditates and describes the ancestor's former conduct. In a previous birth, the father was a Kshatriya king. In a passage involving pride, sapatni wording, ritukala and a village journey on royal duties, he left his wife and did not give ritudana. The English comparison explains this as not having intercourse. Here the original ritudana and ancient marital-duty context remain; ambiguous sapatni wording is not turned into an invented marriage history. This is the story's causal explanation, not proof of a deceased person's actual deeds or hell. No marital sexual entitlement, pressure, force, compulsory pregnancy or medical judgment is endorsed. The king asks for a remedy. The sage recommends observing Margashirsha's bright Moksha with family or companions and offering its merit to the father, asserting the statement's truth with a Brahma comparison. The king returns and waits for the month. When it arrives, he observes with the group and gives the merit to his father. In the narrative flowers fall from heaven; his father is released with other ancestors. From the air he twice says svasti, blessing his son, and goes to heaven. The close praises removal of sin, liberation after death, immeasurable reward, dearness to the Lord and resemblance to Chintamani. Reading or hearing is assigned a Vajapeya sacrifice's merit. The separate colophon identifies chapter 39 as Margashirsha's bright Mokshada within the Uttara section's Umapati–Narada dialogue; the immediate conversation is Krishna–Yudhishthira. All 47 numbered positions and the colophon are covered in this condensed original prose. The chapter does not tell a Gita origin story; linked Gita readings are selected verses, not complete chapters. Merit and afterlife outcomes are religious narrative, not guarantees. Ancestor remembrance is optional; fasting, vigils, gifts and purchases are not required. Food, water, rest and care continue.

Roman Hindi meaning: Parvat thodi der dhyan karke poorvaj ke purane karm ka vrittant kehte hain.
